KATE PASCO theatre maker and facilitator
KLB 1999 - 2006

Exeter University - BA Hons in Drama

After graduating, and then travelling for a while, I moved to London and worked as a freelance workshop facilitator for various theatre companies including Putney Arts Theatre, Bigfoot Arts Education, and Theatre Tots.

I am currently the Assistant Youth Director at Group 64 Theatre for Young People, residents at Putney Arts Theatre. Day to day this involves running regular workshops in drama and musical theatre for around 300 young people every week (age 4-19) at the theatre, directing and producing around 5 productions a year, leading theatre holiday projects where we create a show in a week, running playwriting projects in local schools, and supporting other projects through out the year including our Young Directors Programme. As well as putting on shows at Putney Arts Theatre we have taken productions to a range of other venues including The National Theatre and Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

I have recently set up a new theatre company along side my work at Group 64 called Little Echo Theatre Company, which makes work for Young Audiences. Our aim is to create high quality theatre for young audiences that doesn’t patronise or over simplify, but instead sparks imagination and wonder. We use elements of movement, puppetry, music and new technology to share stories and engage both children and their parents in inventive and surprising ways. We will be touring our first show The Star and The Sea to festivals this summer.
