I am a successful makeup artist and live in London with my partner. After DJing successfully in my early twenties, I then worked for my family company but went back to study fashion/photographic makeup 8 years ago and haven't looked back! It's very often unsociable hours and extremely competitive, but I have worked on London Fashion Week and recently had my work published in Vogue magazine. I am a national artist for the great makeup brand Laura Mercier as well as my own freelance work. Laura Mercier herself was a painter before she switched to painting faces and she is an incredible artist! I can honestly say I love my job, regardless of the hours.

A lot of the fashion work I do involves designing the facial makeup to fit the shoot, which is fun.

I have had chemotherapy patients cry after doing makeup for 'look good - feel better'. When they look in the mirror and see they have eyebrows again it certyainly makes them feel better as makeup can be very empowering for women. I enjoy this work as much as doing the fashion shoots.

I have extremely fond memories of being in the sixth form, the tutor group - not to mention the Barcelona art trip.
