John Pinch is a designer and maker.
Throughout his life he has worked with a variety of materials including silver, wood, ceramics, stone, concrete and steel.
Originally working as a silversmith with his own hallmark John Pinch has produced jewellery, mayoral chains, plate and tableware. But wood features prominently in his life and experimenting with form and pattern, he has recently crafted a range of jewellery items to combine different woods, sometimes with silver, to produce decorative and light-weight pieces.
Simultaneously with producing his own work John Pinch has followed a career in design education and has significant experience of teaching in both primary and secondary schools as well as spending 14 years as associate lecturer helping to train the next generation of Design and Technology teachers at the University of the West of England.
